DescriptionA ticket dater die from Chicago Illinois (Chicago, IL) La Salle (LaSalle) Street Station. This die was from drawer "U" and was used on Hill's or Aurora ticket dater machines (date stamps). Still a Metra commuter station, it was once home to the most famous train in the world - The 20th Century Limited - Flagship of the New York Central System (NYC) Railroad. The NYC served La Salle Street Station until to October 26, 1968. This important station was also home to the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad (until 1978), New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad (NKP or Nickel Plate), Chicago and Eastern Illinois (CE&I) Railroad (July 31, 1904 to August 1, 1913) and the Michigan Central (MC) Railroad. Not an easy die to find.
