DescriptionAn unusual Pullman Menus that was used on the Union Pacific Railroad's (RR) Butte Special that ran between Butte, MT, Ogden, UT and Salt Lake City, UT as Pullman Line 679. It was unique in that Pullman converted two 6 section, 6 roomette and 4 double bedroom cars to 4 sec., 6 rmt 4 dbr snack bar cars offering more food than a typical lounge car, but less than a buffet or diner. The Menu code of UP2-G-3C-F62 indicates that 300 copies (3C) were printed in June of 1962 (F62). Part of the Pullman Commissary files for Line 679 which contain all of the internal notes about developing the service and how important is was to Pullman. Much time and energy was put into this project.
