Description | An interesting menu from 1939 featuring Dinner items from Pullman Restaurant Car Service, with a full drink menu with Cigars, Cigarettes and Playing cards on the back. The date code of 58P-1M-G9 (9 = 1939) can be confirmed due to the advertising of the Golden Gate (Bridge) Expo and the New York World's Fair, both of which were held in 1939. Also includes a paid advertisement for Hamilton Watches - "The Watch of Railroad Accuracy," The Waldorf-Astoria, Timken Roller Bearings and Kugler's Restaurants in Philadelphia. Most Pullman Menus do not including either type of advertising, making this an extra collectible menu. There is a hole punched in the upper right hand corner and a stamp on the back cover that reads: "Received Sep 12, 1939 Manager's Office, Dining Car and Hotel Dept." |
